Hayleys Fabric PLC Hayleys Fabric PLC, a Subsidiary of Hayleys PLC, situated at Neboda, Horana, is the largest fabric manufacturer with a combined capacity of two fully owned manufacturing facilities. We produce nearly six million meters per month. We are looking for professionals with industry experience (preferably fabric). Remuneration will depend on your experience and is negotiable. Assistant Manager – Product Development & Innovation We are seeking a smart, creative, and highly motivated professional with a passion for textile innovation and product development, who is eager to explore new technologies, materials, yarns, fabric constructions, and sustainable solutions, while working collaboratively to develop innovative textile products that meet market and customer needs, supported by strong communication, presentation, analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Job Responsibilities –
• Develop innovative and commercially viable fabric qualities by optimizing fabric structures, yarn combinations, finishes, and performance requirements.
• Coordinate with internal departments and suppliers to ensure timely completion of fabric developments according to required technical specifications.
• Conduct and coordinate fabric testing and technical evaluations to ensure product quality and performance.
• Prepare and maintain accurate fabric specifications, technical documents, development records, and costing details.
• Ensure achievement of agreed Development Lead Time (DLT) and Right First Time (RFT) targets.
• Monitor initial bulk production runs of new products to ensure technical requirements are maintained and support a smooth transition to bulk production.
Candidate Profile –
• Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Engineering, NDT Textile Technology, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of textile materials, yarns, fabrics, knitting, finishing, and product development.
• Good understanding of customer requirements and global textile brands; relevant brand experience is an added advantage.
• Strong communication, innovation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
