Salary: £50,000 - 60,000 per year
Requirements: Solid hands-on Cisco experience with routing and switching, LAN/WAN, VPNs, VLANs, firewalls and wireless in a business-critical environment.Experience supporting connectivity across multiple sites; international experience is ideal, and SD-WAN experience is a strong advantage.Working knowledge of network security principles and best practices; experience in a formally accredited environment is preferred.Commercial Arista exposure is advantageous; Arista certification is a bonus, not a requirement.Aruba, VMware vSphere, Zscaler or cloud networking experience is desirable.Strong troubleshooting and communication skills, with the judgement to prioritise work independently and a hands-on approach.Ability to commute to Sunbury-on-Thames.Willingness to travel occasionally to European sites and the US global head office, and participate in an on-call rota. Responsibilities: Help deliver the migration of the edge switching estate from Cisco to Arista and the subsequent firewall replacement programme.Administer and support LAN, WAN and site-to-site connectivity across the UK, Paris and Munich, maintaining availability and performance.Configure, manage and maintain switches, routers, firewalls, SD-WAN and wireless across European locations.Maintain network security controls in line with ISO 27001, including firewalls, VPNs, VLANs and access control policies.Monitor network performance, availability and capacity, and resolve issues proactively.Manage firmware upgrades, patching and device lifecycles, and support disaster recovery and business continuity, including global DR site connectivity.Identify and deliver improvements to the existing network.Maintain accurate network documentation and diagrams, collaborating with internal MIS colleagues and third-party vendors. We are a globally recognised company based in Sunbury-on-Thames, where our MIS function is looking for a Network Engineer to take ownership of network availability, performance and security across the UK and Europe. The role follows architecture and security standards set by our US global head office and operates within an established ISO 27001 framework. It is hybrid, with three days per week on-site, and offers a salary of £50,000–£60,000 plus benefits, including a discretionary bonus, 24 days holiday rising to 30 over time, a 7.5% employer pension contribution with options up to 10%, permanent health cover, private dental, worldwide travel insurance and £250 per year towards gym membership.
