Requirements: We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer who is confident investigating, ingesting, and exploiting large datasets.Strong SQL skills and experience with Snowflake and dbt.Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases.Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration tools such as Airflow or Astronomer.Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as GitHub Actions.Experience with data quality and observability platforms such as Soda.io or BigEye.Understanding of monitoring and logging tools such as New Relic or Grafana.We value people who are analytical, curious, willing to learn new tools and techniques, and unafraid to challenge the status quo.Preferred: Prior experience deploying data pipelines in production environments.Preferred: Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. Responsibilities: Work with data squads across Sainsburys to ensure teams have the data they need to build products.Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines using CI/CD.Automate end-to-end workflows for data ingestion, testing, deployment, and monitoring.Optimize model-serving infrastructure for latency, scalability, and cost.Build infrastructure to monitor model performance, data drift, and other key production metrics.Collaborate with developers and MLOps engineers to ensure pipelines are production-ready.Implement security, compliance, and governance practices.Support troubleshooting and incident response for deployed systems.Build relationships with colleagues, mentor them, and share what you have learned.Partner with data modellers, analytics engineers, data scientists, architects, and product managers to deliver data products.Contribute to continuous improvement and technical excellence, and help shape our engineering vision and adoption of best practices.
