Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year
Requirements: 12 years of software engineering experience, including 5 years leading engineering teams in finance, fintech, or other regulated or audited domains.Deep experience with Tier 1 ERPs (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday Financials, or NetSuite at enterprise scale), including leading the engineering side of at least one migration, consolidation, or major modernisation programme.Experience with SOX or an equivalent control environment, including building engineering practices that stand up to external audit.Architectural range across vendor configuration, custom extensions, integration middleware, and event-driven patterns, with the ability to assess when to buy, build, or wrap.Ability to partner with CFO-level stakeholders, work transparently with Finance Business Process leads, explain complex trade-offs, and achieve organisational alignment.A pragmatic approach to transformation: delivering in increments while keeping the long-term destination in view.Nice to have: First-hand experience taking a company through SOX readiness after listing.Nice to have: A background in fintech, payments, or banking.Nice to have: A public point of view on what works and what is hype in AI for finance back-office operations. Responsibilities: Set the technical strategy, architecture, and multi-year roadmap for our ERP and surrounding finance platforms.Lead, hire, and grow a senior engineering team, setting a high bar for engineering quality, correctness, auditability, and resilience.Build the tooling, controls, and change-management practices that embed SOX compliance into how we engineer.Improve deployment frequency, observability, incident response, and change control for systems that support CFO sign-off.Co-own the roadmap with Finance and Product, translating Group Finance priorities—such as close acceleration, intercompany, AP/AR, and statutory reporting—into an engineering plan.Drive efficiencies through AI-assisted finance operations tooling, assessing where automation is valuable and selecting appropriate tools and integrations. In this role, you will join our Finance Tribe and lead the engineering team responsible for the platforms our Group Finance organisation uses to run financial operations. We are investing in our finance systems as we scale globally and following our move from the LSE to Nasdaq, with SOX readiness among our key priorities. The role will partner with our Product and CFO organisations to modernise our ERP and finance tooling and shape AI-enabled finance operations. The starting salary is £135,000–£175,000, with RSUs and Wise benefits. Our role is based in London.
