Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year
Requirements: Expert proficiency in Figma or equivalent design tooling, including component and variant managementStrong portfolio demonstrating interaction-level design decisions, prototyping, and design system workFamiliarity with the GOV.UK Design System and experience designing within or alongside established design systemsWorking knowledge of HTML5 and CSS/Sass sufficient to collaborate effectively with front-end engineersFamiliarity with front-end JavaScript frameworks and component-based development approachesUnderstanding of WCAG 2.2 and practical application within interface designExperience using AI tools to accelerate prototyping, pattern generation, or design documentationStrong communication skills, with the ability to present and justify interaction decisions to technical and non-technical audiences Responsibilities: Design detailed interaction patterns, component behaviours, and interface states for digital products and servicesProduce high-fidelity prototypes to communicate and validate interaction logic with users and developersDefine and document micro-interactions, error states, validation patterns, and edge casesApply and extend the GOV.UK Design System, contributing reusable patterns where appropriateCollaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure accurate, accessible implementation of designsEnsure all interface designs meet WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards and responsive design requirementsWork with UX designers and user researchers to refine interactions based on evidenceMaintain design system consistency and contribute to shared component librariesDocument interaction specifications clearly to support development handoff Technologies: AIAWSCSSFigmaHTML5SupportJavaScriptOracleOutSystemsSASSSnowflakeUX UI DesignCloudEmbedded More:
