Reporting & Collaboration
• Reports to Engineering Manager(s) and Electrical Engineering Lead.
• Works closely with Engineering Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Project Management, Field/Service, customers, suppliers, and engineering peers.
Key Responsibilities
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to support customer-facing technical discussions and collaborate across functions.
• Evaluate customer tools from an electrical perspective including grounding approaches, signal-integrity methods, and related practices at both the detailed technical level and big-picture system-level design.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, project planning, and customer-facing technical reviews; communicate status, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly.
• Design, build, troubleshoot, and support test equipment, fixtures, prototypes, lab and field testing, production validation, and customer demonstrations using appropriate diagnostic tools such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Design and develop electrical systems, schematics, wiring diagrams, interface/control definitions, and component selections from concept through release and production support.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs, cable/harness drawings, wire diagrams, test procedures, component libraries, and ECR/ECO packages.
• Develop and execute verification/validation plans, DVP&R documentation, test fixtures, and custom test equipment; analyze results and document conclusions.
• Support cable wiring and PCBA test, repair and rework and document as needed.
• Ensure designs meet applicable safety, EMC/EMI, environmental, and regulatory requirements as needed.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 5–8+ years of professional electrical engineering experience, or equivalent qualifications demonstrating comparable technical depth, practical experience, and engineering capability.
• Experience with electrical design tools such as OrCAD/Altium, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, KiCad, or similar.
• Experience with signal integrity, grounding, shielding, noise mitigation, and system-level evaluation of design/test tools and practices.
• Working knowledge of analog/digital fundamentals, power distribution, grounding, protection, sensors/actuators, and transmission-line characteristics
• Experience creating schematics, wiring diagrams, cable/harness documentation, electrical documentation packages, and controlled engineering changes.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience with standard lab instrumentation and practical test setups.
• Ability to design or support manufacture of electrical test fixtures, test systems, or production/lab test equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with schematic capture, PCBA design, layout review, and component selection experience.
• Experience with cable/harness design, connector selection, environmental sealing, EMC/EMI compliance, UL/IEC, NFPA 70/79, CE marking, or similar standards.
• Experience with intrinsic safety methods, IECEX/ATEX certification, EMC/EMI, environmental, and regulatory requirements as needed.
• Familiarity with functional safety concepts, FMEA, fault-tree methods, PLM/ERP systems such as Windchill, and structured ECR/ECO change control.
