Job Title: Forklift Operator $19-22/HR Job DescriptionThis role combines safe, professional forklift operation with general warehouse and production support. You will handle materials, maintain equipment, and support seed delivery and return activities while following strict safety, quality, and data accuracy standards in a fast-paced agricultural warehouse environment.Responsibilities
• Operate forklifts in a professional, accident-free manner while strictly following safety procedures and regulatory requirements. • Complete and document regular forklift inspections, ensuring equipment is in safe working condition at all times. • Perform systematic maintenance and cleaning of forklifts to maintain reliability and cleanliness. • Use warehouse management systems (WMS) and related technology, such as PCs and scanners, to track the location of goods and ensure accurate data entry during material handling. • Push, pull, lift, stack, tier, and move products, equipment, and materials throughout the warehouse area as assigned. • Carry out additional manual tasks at the direction of warehouse supervisors or team leads, including sampling, inventory activities, and general cleaning. • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of safety hazards. Essential Skills
• Proven ability to operate a forklift safely and professionally, including in tighter confined spaces. • Ability to accurately count inventory when moving and handling materials. • Ability to read and interpret scales and other measurement devices. • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a busy warehouse environment. • Alertness and situational awareness while driving a forklift and working around equipment. • Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. • Basic computer literacy and ability to use technology such as PCs, scanners, and warehouse management systems (WMS) to complete job tasks. • Ability to follow safety standards, regulatory requirements, and emergency procedures. • Reliable transportation to the work site and ability to arrive as scheduled. • Demonstrated enthusiasm, positive attitude, honesty, and willingness to treat everyone with respect.. Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a warehouse and production facility supporting agricultural operations. You will work 8- or 12-hour shifts depending on the season, with approximately 80% of shifts being 8 hours and 12-hour shifts primarily during the slower winter season. Typical schedules include 6:00am–6:30pm and 6:00pm–6:30am, with an 8-week rotation between day and night shifts. Shift differentials apply for hours worked between 2:00pm–10:30pm and 10:00pm–6:30am. You must be open to rotating shifts as contractors are regularly rotated. The environment involves regular forklift operation, material handling, and use of PCs, scanners, and warehouse management systems. Work is performed in a warehouse setting that requires adherence to safety protocols and cleanliness standards, with a focus on maintaining an orderly, hazard-free workspace. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Woodhull, IL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
