Job Title: Industrial PainterJob DescriptionThe Industrial Painter prepares and finishes metal surfaces using a variety of industrial coatings and application methods. This role involves cleaning, sanding, grinding, and masking surfaces, applying paints and primers with spray equipment, rollers, or brushes, and ensuring all finished products meet established quality standards. The painter maintains painting equipment and work areas, follows all safety procedures and PPE requirements, and supports overall shop operations through material handling and cleanup. Responsibilities • Clean, sand, grind, and prepare metal surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of industrial coatings. • Mask and protect areas that do not require paint to maintain clean and accurate finishes. • Mix and apply industrial coatings, primers, and paints using spray guns, pressure pot systems, rollers, or brushes. • Operate effectively inside a paint booth, following proper procedures for ventilation and overspray control. • Inspect finished products to verify that quality standards and finish specifications are met. • Maintain painting equipment, tools, and paint systems in good working condition and report any issues promptly. • Keep the paint shop and work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards. • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies while working with paints, solvents, and equipment. • Assist with material handling, including moving parts in and out of the paint booth or paint shop as needed. • Support general shop cleanup and contribute to a safe and efficient work environment. Essential Skills • 2–3+ years of painting experience in an industrial setting, paint booth, or paint shop. • Proficiency in industrial painting techniques, including paint preparation and application. • Ability to paint with spray guns and pressure pot systems in a production environment. • Demonstrated ability to prep, sand, and grind metal surfaces for painting. • Experience working inside a paint booth, including managing airflow, overspray, and proper curing. • Strong understanding of paint systems, industrial coatings, and primers. • Skill in masking and protecting surfaces that do not require paint. • Capability to perform sanding, grinding, and sandblasting tasks safely and efficiently. • Attention to detail and ability to inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met. • Commitment to following safety procedures, PPE requirements, and established shop policies. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working in a dedicated paint shop or paint booth environment. • Familiarity with maintaining paint equipment and spray systems to ensure consistent performance. • Ability to work overtime hours when required to support production needs. • Strong work ethic and reliability in a fast-paced industrial setting. • Willingness to assist with general material handling and shop cleanup tasks. Work is hands-on and production-focused, with overtime hours available and often required to meet operational demands. The environment prioritizes safety, with established procedures, PPE requirements, and organized work areas to manage paints, solvents, and equipment effectively. Appropriate work attire is expected for an industrial setting, including PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and protective clothing as required. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cordova, AL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
