Job Title: Forklift OperatorJob DescriptionThe Forklift Operator safely operates sit-down forklifts to support material handling and production activities in a fast-paced environment. This role focuses on moving, loading, and unloading materials efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized work area and following all safety procedures.Responsibilities
• Operate sit-down forklifts to move, load, and unload materials within the facility in a safe and efficient manner. • Handle materials to support production workflows, ensuring timely delivery of components and finished goods to designated areas. • Perform basic equipment checks before and after use to confirm forklifts are operating safely and report any mechanical issues promptly. • Follow established safety protocols and company procedures while driving forklifts and handling materials. • Maintain an organized, clean, and hazard-free work area to support smooth production and warehouse operations. • Coordinate with production and warehouse team members to prioritize material movements and meet operational schedules. • Accurately place and stack materials to prevent damage and ensure easy access and retrieval. • Comply with all facility rules, including traffic patterns, speed limits, and designated forklift operating zones. Essential Skills
• Proven forklift operating experience, specifically with sit-down forklifts. • Demonstrated material handling experience in a production or warehouse environment. • Ability to safely operate forklifts and follow all safety guidelines and procedures. • Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced production setting. • Basic understanding of equipment inspection and safe operation practices. • Forklift qualification or certification, as required by local regulations. Work takes place on 1st shift from 7:00 am to 3:45 pm or 2nd shift from 7:00 pm to 3:45 am. The environment is fast-paced and industrial, with regular movement of materials and coordination with production teams. Team members follow established safety procedures and equipment guidelines, and attire is typical for an industrial setting, with appropriate work clothing and safety gear as required by facility policies. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tanner, AL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.83 - $21.83/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
