Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician Job DescriptionThe Building Maintenance Technician performs comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, with a strong focus on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general facility upkeep. This role ensures the safety, reliability, and efficient operation of the premises by diagnosing issues, completing repairs, coordinating specialized services, and maintaining accurate documentation of all maintenance activities.Responsibilities
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation. • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems, resolving issues promptly and effectively. • Respond to maintenance requests and service calls, completing repairs in a timely and efficient manner. • Inspect buildings and premises for safety hazards and perform necessary maintenance to eliminate or reduce such hazards. • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance, ensuring work quality and adherence to standards. • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations. • Maintain an organized inventory of supplies, parts, and tools required for repair and maintenance tasks. • Document all maintenance and repair work performed and maintain accurate logs for future reference and planning. Essential Skills
• 5–7 years of experience in building maintenance or a closely related field. • Hands-on experience with HVAC systems, including tasks such as changing filters and performing routine preventive maintenance. • Proficiency in the safe and effective use of hand tools and power tools. • Basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems and their operation. • Ability to independently diagnose issues with building systems and perform appropriate repairs. • Good communication skills to interact clearly with colleagues, contractors, and building occupants. • Strong customer service skills with a focus on responsiveness and professionalism. • Physical dexterity and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various conditions, including standing, bending, and working in confined spaces. The position requires physical activity, including lifting, carrying, and working in a variety of conditions such as mechanical rooms, indoor common areas, and other facility spaces. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Baltimore, MD. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
