Job Title: Mailroom ClerkJob DescriptionThis role supports the Single Document Imaging (SDI) department on second shift, focusing on reviewing mortgage documents and accurately entering information into the computer system. You will spend most of your day working on a computer, preparing physical loan files for imaging, scanning documents, validating image quality, and indexing each document with the correct loan number and document type. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, reliable attendance, and the ability to work efficiently while navigating multiple windows and systems.Responsibilities
• Prepare physical mortgage documents for scanning by removing staples, paperclips, rubber bands, and other bindings to ensure smooth imaging. • Scan large volumes of mortgage and loan documents into the computer system using document imaging equipment. • Review scanned images in the computer system to verify image quality, completeness, and accuracy. • Identify document types and correctly classify each document within the imaging and indexing system. • Enter loan numbers and document types accurately into the computer, maintaining high data entry quality and productivity. • Navigate efficiently through multiple computer windows and applications while performing data entry and validation tasks. • Memorize and recognize a wide variety of mortgage document types and associated document numbers over time to improve speed and accuracy. • Perform high-volume alphanumeric and 10-key data entry, meeting or exceeding productivity and quality standards. • Walk throughout the department pushing a cart to pick up and drop off stacks of paper loan files before and after scanning, ensuring documents are tracked and routed correctly. • Maintain perfect or near-perfect attendance, arriving on time for each shift and complying with mandatory overtime requirements when needed. • Communicate clearly and professionally with team members to coordinate workflow and resolve any document or imaging issues. • Multi-task effectively by managing document preparation, scanning, data entry, validation, and document distribution throughout the shift. Essential Skills
• Strong data entry skills with a minimum of 7000 KSPH (keystrokes per hour) in alphanumeric entry. • Ability to type at least 40 words per minute. • At least 1 year of professional work experience that required effective multi-tasking. • At least 6 months of experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and clarifying document-related issues. • Basic computer literacy, including comfort working in multiple windows and applications simultaneously. • Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail when reviewing and indexing documents. • Reliable attendance and punctuality, with the ability to meet strict attendance expectations. • Capacity to meet or exceed weekly quality and productivity goals in a structured, metrics-driven environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Mortgage document experience or familiarity with loan documentation is a strong plus. • Experience with scanning, validation, and indexing processes in a document imaging or mailroom environment. • Proficiency with 10-key and alphanumeric data entry in a high-volume setting. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment. • Comfort with repetitive tasks and high-volume document handling while maintaining focus and accuracy. • Track record of achieving 100% quality on performance reports and exceeding productivity goals. • History of perfect or near-perfect attendance, with no tardiness or unexcused absences. The role involves both seated computer work and physical activity, including walking throughout the department and pushing a cart to pick up and drop off stacks of paper loan files before and after scanning. The work setting is structured and metrics-driven, with clear quality and productivity standards and a strong emphasis on consistent attendance and punctuality. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Shoreview, MN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
