Job summary Would you like to be an integral part of our established multidisciplinary Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Team and be directly involved in its future development? Do you have the vision, energy and interest to work with this client group and their carers?
Your work will be guided by Early Intervention philosophy, which embraces the Social Inclusion and Recovery agenda. You will be using your evidence based clinical skills to contribute to the provision of an Occupational Therapy (OT) service for young adults with emerging complex mental health difficulties, both on an individual basis and in our established groups. You will have the opportunity to work within a diverse community to develop quality services to improve the lives of local people.
Main duties of the job
Your duties will include the use of Occupational Therapy tools (MoHO), vocational and generic assessments, care planning as a care coordinator, implementation and evaluation of care, as well as providing support to carers. The EIP service delivers a structured group programme, and you will work closely with and supervise the Support Time and Recovery Worker (STR) to colead, implement, and evaluate this programme, ensuring it remains responsive to service user needs. You will be working collaboratively within the MDT in establishing close working links with statutory and voluntary organisations and partnerships.
There are currently very exciting local initiatives within Waltham Forest such as our Recovery College, Individual Placement Support (IPS) workers, and our nationally recognised Coping Through Football service. In addition, you will have lots of opportunity to develop new initiatives.
The Trust has an established Preceptorship Programme and there are OTs present in our co-located Mental Health & Wellbeing and Physical Health Teams, offering informal/formal support and supervision. In addition, there are OTs based across other NELFT EIP services, offering valuable opportunities for networking, collaboration and informal peer support Salary for band 5 is £32,073 - £39,043 (plus outer HCAS) Salary for band 6 is £39,959 - £48,117 (plus outer HCAS)

Starting with NELFT NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes Hospital.
High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15%of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,870 and a maximum payment of £6,137 per annum, pro rata for part time)
