Job summary
This Fellowship programme is approved under the RCS England Senior Clinical Fellowship Scheme and is RSCEng accredited. This post is offered on 1-year fixed term senior Clinical Fellowship basis, potentially extendable for a second year. MRCS or equivalent is essential. The post does not award a National Training Number. Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK sponsorship will be required. The duties of this post are equivalent to an individual holding a Certificate of Completion of Training or have a CCT or equivalent in General Surgery within 18 months of interview.
Main duties of the job
The fellow will work across the full service undertaking hot and elective outpatient clinics within the colorectal service as well as endoscopy and surgical procedures. A weekly work plan will be agreed with the successful candidate, further details are provided in the attached Job Description.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of application. Basic Medical Degree eg: MBBS, MBBCh MRCS (or Equivalent) FRCS at the point of commencement in post
Clinical experience Essential
Completed specialist training or have a CCT or equivalent in General Surgery within 18 months of interview NHS Experience excluding Clinical Attachment
Desirable
Experience in colorectal surgery at Registrar level
Research Essential
Basic Understanding of research methods and statistics
Desirable
Previous experience in research Experience preparing research papers for publication & presentation
Continuous Professional Development Essential
Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months
