Requirements: Were seeking university students on track to achieve a 2:1 or above who are looking for a placement year role.Proven experience in OT engineering, ideally within dairy, FMCG or manufacturing.Strong understanding of OT architecture and project lifecycle management.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Ability to coach and mentor others, with a collaborative and proactive mindset.Familiarity with networks, protocols, security and server virtualisation.Familiarity with threats, vulnerabilities, impacts and mitigations in ICS systems and the enterprise environment.Familiarity with cyber incident response, management, escalation, investigation and third-party involvement.Familiarity with computer architecture, digital logic and machine-level representation of data.Familiarity with cyber security risk management, tools and techniques.Familiarity with regulations such as IEC 62443, NIS2 and the Cyber Security Resilience Bill. Responsibilities: Enforce OT cybersecurity practices, frameworks and regulations.Assist with preparing and managing industrial control system (ICS) asset inventories, including resilience and obsolescence considerations.Contribute to creating and implementing network diagrams to improve system visibility, security and availability.Maintain and support the implementation of OT hardware, software and connectivity to supporting infrastructure services.Provide technical and operational support for OT systems.Guide OT system design, ensuring user requirements are understood and addressed.Support the management and delivery of OT projects.Monitor, operate and enhance complex OT infrastructure platforms and equipment.Identify workable solutions using available software and systems, aligned with site digital strategy and security requirements.Maintain the OT roadmap and plans to replace legacy software and hardware, updating it as technology and security approaches change.Participate in cyber incident response, governance reporting, penetration testing, risk register management and awareness training.Collaborate with Automation Engineers to implement secure configurations and maintain system availability while addressing security and vulnerabilities.Design and deliver systems with consideration for lowest total cost of ownership and the challenges of FMCG.Contribute to continuous improvement of our systems and business, including improvement activities and events in engineering-owned areas.Understand how your actions and performance affect site and business objectives and the bottom line.Work collaboratively with engineering colleagues and other teams to improve our business and deliver our OGSM.Deliver on-the-job training to colleagues.Support the health and safety of yourself and others. Were offering an Automation Operational Technology (OT) Engineer internship based in Market Drayton, Shropshire, starting in July 2027 on a 13-month fixed-term contract. The working pattern is Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.
