About this role
Function The objective of this internship is to develop the complete structural model and design of a standard building within a high-voltage substation, such as a Gas-Insulated Substation (GIS). You will be responsible for the structural analysis, dimensioning and detailed modelling of the building using industry-standard engineering software. This internship can be combined with a bachelor's or master's thesis. One internship position is available. You will create a comprehensive structural model in SCIA Engineer. You will then verify and design the different structural components and connections using IDEA StatiCa. In addition, you will develop a detailed Building Information Model (BIM) in Autodesk Revit. You will assess the interaction between the different software tools and contribute to establishing an efficient workflow for the design of high-voltage substation buildings. During the internship, you will gain hands-on experience in: Structural engineering. Steel and concrete design. BIM methodologies. Multidisciplinary design processes used in the power transmission industry. The final outcome will consist of a fully documented building design, including: Structural calculations. Detailed models. Recommendations for optimising the design workflow and engineering practices. Your Profile You are pursuing a master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field. You are interested in structural design and digital engineering tools. You speak English, Dutch or French. A good command of any one of these languages is sufficient.
