As a Retail Tactical Security Guard, you will play a key role in loss prevention, customer safety, and incident response. Through proactive patrols, strong situational awareness, and effective surveillance, you'll help prevent theft and support a safe shopping environment. You'll work closely with store staff while using your communication, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills to handle situations professionally and confidently. This is an excellent opportunity for security professionals looking to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced retail environment while making a visible difference every shift. What's in it for you? Hourly wage of $20 Part-time position with shifts scheduled Tuesday through Thursday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday through Sunday from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM. We will invest in you, covering the costs of continuing education through GardaWorld Academy Career growth opportunities at GardaWorld Uniform provided at no cost Supportive team environment where your safety and well-being are a top priority Employee recognition programs to reqard your hard work and dedication Responsibilities for Retail Security Guard Conduct regular patrols of the retail premises to identify and deter theft, suspicious activity, and safety hazards Monitor customer and employee activity while maintaining a visible security presence Respond promptly to incidents, including shoplifting, disturbances, and policy violations, and document all actions taken Assist with loss prevention efforts and support store management in maintaining a safe shopping environment Monitor CCTV systems and investigate suspicious activities as required Provide professional customer service while enforcing site policies and procedures Liaise with law enforcement and emergency services when required Qualifications for Retail Security Guard Authorized to work in CanadaValid BC Security Worker Licence Minimum 6 months of experience in a retail security environment First Aid Certification - an asset Strong observation, customer service and conflict resolution skills Ability to remain calm and act decisively in high-pressure situations Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift Strong report writing and communication skills Alert, detail-oriented and committed to maintaining a safe environment This could be more than a job!
