We are seeking a dedicated, adaptable, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join Lift Four Dwellings Secondary. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to play a vital role in ensuring high-quality learning continues during teacher absences.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be a familiar and trusted adult in our school community, supervising lessons across a range of subjects, maintaining positive behaviour, and supporting students to stay focused and engaged in their learning.

Your new role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students continue learning in a safe, calm and productive environment.
You will deliver pre-prepared lesson materials, support students' learning, manage behaviour effectively, and provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons. You will also lead our 'super cover' provision, when multiple classes require cover alongside a second member of staff.
Key responsibilities include:
Supervising classes across a range of subjects during teacher absencesDelivering lesson materials prepared by teaching staffLeading super cover alongside a second member of staffMaintaining a positive and orderly classroom environmentSupporting students to stay on task and complete work to the best of their abilitySupporting students with SEND and helping to implement EHCP and IEP targets where appropriateRecording attendance accurately and reporting any concernsProviding feedback to teachers regarding student progress, engagement and behaviourLiaising with pastoral teams regarding student welfare concernsSupporting wider academy activities, including student supervision and enrichment opportunitiesYou will work closely with teaching, SEND and pastoral teams to ensure every student receives the support they need to thrive.
What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for someone who:
Holds GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent qualificationsHas experience working with children and young peopleCan build positive and productive relationships with studentsHas strong behaviour management and communication skillsIs calm, resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced school environmentCan work effectively as part of a teamIs committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young peopleHas excellent organisational skills and can manage competing prioritiesWho is Lift Schools?
