Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO)
Location: Tulsa, OK
Hours: Monday-Friday 12:30pm - 9:00pm
Essential Functions:
• Report to work on time and prepared for each scheduled shift • Perform all assigned duties and processes, including tasks for which you are fully qualified and those within your demonstrated capabilities • Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive attitude throughout the workday • Work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a respectful, productive work environment
• Primary duty is to perform basic route services as required. • Pick up specimens and verify, within established parameters, that the test requisitions have been filled out correctly and that the specimens have been submitted properly. • Deliver specimens to designated laboratory/distribution site using appropriate handling, storage, and transportation methods, including the use of transport containers, dry ice, cold packs, etc., to maintain specimen integrity. • Establish and maintain positive client relations. • Complete and submit all administrative forms such as daily route logs, Client Concern forms, supply requisitions and special transportation forms. • Help with the packing of specimens for transport to the Core Laboratory. • Maintain compliance with all safe driving regulations and vehicle maintenance procedures as established by government agencies and company policies. • Adhere to DLO policies and procedures, including attendance, compliance and safety.
Required Experience:
• Proficient in verbal communication with internal and external contacts. • Customer oriented with excellent interpersonal skills. • Previous Medical Laboratory experience is a plus.
Special Requirements:
• Valid drivers license with a good driving record. • Participates in growth and development of the department. • Reflects the company’s values in all aspects of performance. • Must be a team player. • May be called upon to perform duties other than listed in job description. • Overtime may be required with business needs.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
• Travel <25% - various locations in a specified geography. • Able to get in and out of a vehicle multiple time’s per day. • Extensive use of phone and handheld device (PC) • Prolonged standing/sitting/walking/driving. • Fine dexterity with hands/steadiness • Able to lift up to 25 pounds; may occasionally need to lift 50 pounds; carrying up to 15 pounds for several minutes at a time. • Able to climb stairs multiple times per day. • Ability to communicate effectively in English with clients, supervisors, and peers. • Vision-requires constant mental visual attention to details as well as ability to see well in limited light scenarios. • Balancing • Bending/kneeling • Pushing/pulling • Reaching/twisting
Education
• High school diploma/GED strongly preferred, or commensurate work experience required.
Technical Training or Professional Licensing:
• Valid State driver's license with a driving record that meets Quest Driver's Safety requirements
