Senior Investment Strategist, Canada
Opportunity Overview: Opportunity Overview: The Senior Investment Strategist serves as a thought leader and primary spokesperson for the firm’s investment guidance on economic and financial market topics. This role applies seasoned judgment to interpret macroeconomic and market conditions, shaping asset allocation recommendations and delivering timely investment perspectives. As a visible representative of the firm’s investment philosophy, the Senior Strategist authors key communications, provides commentary, and shares insights through media, presentations, and other channels to build trust and confidence among financial advisors (FAs) and clients. This position also includes strategic leadership and people management responsibilities.
What you'll do: • Serve as lead subject matter expert for a specific investment area (e.g., fixed income, global equity), setting the vision and ensuring integrity of advice and guidance. • Direct research and analysis to inform recommendations aligned with the firm’s investment philosophy. • Author and oversee strategy reports, articles, and timely communications on market and economic topics. • Represent the firm at speaking engagements, client seminars, CE events, and media interviews. • Deliver complex financial concepts in a clear, understandable manner tailored to diverse audiences. • Provide strategic oversight and accountability for a team of strategists and analysts. • Develop team members through coaching, feedback, and career progression planning. • Partner with internal stakeholders to integrate advice and guidance into tools, systems, and training. • Serve as backup for other strategist roles with broad functional knowledge of investment and client needs. Skills & Competencies: • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to interpret data and identify risks/opportunities. • Expertise in asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk management. • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for reports, presentations, and media. • Ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences. • Leadership capabilities including talent development, strategic planning, and decision-making. • Proficiency with financial tools, data analytics, and presentation software. • Strategic Road Mapping • Content Development • Investment Idea Generation • Business Partnering Data Analytics • Negotiation • Coaching • Financial Research
Position Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field required; MBA preferred; Ph.D. desirable for some roles. • CFA designation strongly preferred. • Extensive knowledge of financial markets, economy, and investment strategies. • Proven success in developing and communicating investment recommendations and strategies. • Public speaking experience required.
