Zinc Plating Line Operator
Job Description: Plating Operator 2nd Shift Job description This position is responsible for set up and operation of zinc plating lines.
Work schedule M-F 2:30PM-11PM Must have availability to train on 1st shift Monday-Friday 7am-3pm. Prior to placement on 2nd shift.
Overtime is available.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
Follow the general instructions of processing specifications for the process as supplemented by the specific instructions on job routers.
Maintain accurate records of production and inspection, including log sheets and job routers with all variable processing data recorded as required.
Prompt and proper completion of all required paperwork.
Proper handling and integrity of router packet and enclosed information.
Continuous part handling in a manner that preserves part/batch/lot/container traceability.
The candidate must be capable of operating a hoist and forklift.
Load, unload work in baskets, barrels, racks, boxes, drums, etc. for processing.
Post process dip and dry work, place work in containers for additional processing and or shipping.
Pre-plan work to ensure time limitations of the process are adhered to and production is maximized.
Perform in-process and post-process inspections as required.
Adjust as needed to process solution working level (water additions)
Make chemical adds to various processing solutions at the direction of laboratory personnel and may be required to assist in mixing and testing solutions.
Clean and maintain equipment; observe various gauges and meters to ensure lines are working properly, stop the processing line when equipment is not operating properly or process is out of specification.
Maintain safe and clean working environment and follow all safety rules including wearing of appropriate PPE.
Assist in Utility Duties as needed.
Prior experience preferred but not necessary.
Must have the ability to read, write and interpret English to avoid injury to self and others, must keep supervisor informed of any problems when they occur.
Attendance is an essential function of the position.
Work Environment Note: As a facility in the plating industry, our daily operations involve heavy machinery, overhead hoists, and ventilation systems. The environment has a constant baseline of industrial noise, punctuated by occasional sudden, loud sounds from metal parts shifting or machinery engaging.
