Job Title: PackagerJob DescriptionThis role focuses on supporting food production and packaging operations by assembling products, preparing and storing items, and ensuring that finished goods are correctly boxed and palletized. You contribute directly to a fast-paced, cold-production environment where attention to cleanliness, safety, and quality standards is essential. Responsibilities • Assist with the production, preparation, and storage of food products according to established procedures and quality standards. • Place boxed products onto pallets in an organized and secure manner to prepare them for shipment or storage. • Assemble Taco Kits for wholesale customers, ensuring all components are correctly included and packaged. • Assemble salads and salsas, following specific product recipes and packaging requirements. • Maintain housekeeping standards in the production plant and warehouse, keeping work areas clean, organized, and free of debris. • Follow company safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times to ensure a safe and compliant operation. • Handle packaging materials and finished products carefully to minimize damage and waste. • Work scheduled shifts, including both weekend days, and perform overtime as needed to support production demands. • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production and packaging targets. • Adapt to different packaging tasks such as picking, production line support, and general packaging duties based on operational needs. Essential Skills • Ability to perform packaging, picking, and production tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Comfort working in a cold environment at approximately 40 degrees. • Willingness to work both weekend days with one day off during the week. • Reliability in adhering to scheduled second-shift hours starting at 4:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with overtime on weekends. • Capability to follow safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices. • For machine operator roles: at least 6 months of production or packaging experience. • For packager and kits roles: ability to learn on the job with no prior experience required. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in food production or packaging environments is a plus. • Comfort working around food odors and wet, slippery floors. • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. • Attention to detail to ensure accurate assembly of kits, salads, and salsas. • Strong work ethic and willingness to support overtime as needed. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a cold food-production facility kept at approximately 40 degrees, with exposure to food odors and wet, slippery floors. The environment is fast-paced and structured around production lines for kits, salads, and salsas, requiring consistent attention to safety and cleanliness. Appropriate attire for cold conditions and non-slip footwear are necessary to work comfortably and safely in this setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
