Key Responsibilities
ā¢ Lead the design, synthesis, and characterization of advanced polymeric materials, adhesives, elastomers, and surfactant-based technologies ā¢ Unlock new performance capabilities by investigating structure-property relationships and application mechanisms ā¢ Develop innovative formulations balancing performance, manufacturability, cost, regulatory requirements, and intellectual property strategies ā¢ Design and execute sophisticated research programs utilizing DOE methodologies, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision making ā¢ Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to successfully scale technologies from concept to commercial production ā¢ Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and external research partners to accelerate innovation and product development ā¢ Identify emerging technologies, market opportunities, and strategic growth initiatives ā¢ Analyze and communicate technical findings through reports, presentations, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders ā¢ Generate intellectual property through inventions, patents, and proprietary technology development ā¢ Support product validation, field testing, and commercialization efforts ā¢ Manage multiple projects while maintaining scientific rigor, organization, and attention to detail What We're Looking For Required Qualifications
ā¢ Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related scientific discipline ā¢ Deep expertise in polymer synthesis, characterization, and structure-property relationships ā¢ Strong knowledge of silicones, adhesives, elastomers, and surfactant chemistry ā¢ Proven success developing innovative materials from research through commercialization ā¢ Advanced understanding of chemical, thermal, mechanical, and physical testing methodologies ā¢ Extensive experience utilizing DOE, statistical analysis, and experimental design techniques ā¢ Demonstrated record of innovation, technical problem-solving, and patent generation ā¢ Ability to independently drive research initiatives and deliver impactful results Preferred Experience
ā¢ Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams ā¢ Partnering with suppliers, customers, and external research organizations ā¢ Supporting patent filings and intellectual property strategies ā¢ Translating complex scientific concepts into commercially successful products Work Environment This full-time position offers a flexible Monday-Friday schedule, with start times generally ranging from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM and corresponding end times between 3:00 PM and 5:30 PM.
