About this role
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Clean the crops. Clear and collect brush and debris from fields and other work areas. Cut agricultural seed according to farm standards. Cut horticultural crops. Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots. Greenhouse cleaning. Harvest seedlings. Tie and secure plants. Mix and prepare soils. Plant bulbs and seeds. Pot and re-pot plants. Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings. Report signs of insect or disease damage. Dig up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs. Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens. Clean work area. Experience: Experience an asset. Support for newcomers and refugees: Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees . Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees . Does not require Canadian work experience. Support for youths: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth.
