Education: Bachelor's degree. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Estimating. Tasks: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs. Prepare pre-qualification submissions to present clients . Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Operate CADD and other computer software systems. Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bids forms. Advise on tendering procedures. Analyze tenders and recommend awards. Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors. Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Gold Seal Membership in the Canadian Construction Association. Membership in the Professional Corporation for Estimators. First Aid Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Type of experience: Civil.
