About this role
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots. Work setting: Staff accommodation available. Tasks: Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and other work areas. Develop and guide the behaviour of farm animals. Diagnose livestock health issues. Direct farm feed inventory activities . Handling animals. Marking livestock as proof of ownership. Monitor the calving process. Monitoring animal health. Organize tasks to accomplish the work. Oversee the activities of clearing the fields. Perform livestock feeding. Prepare cattle for exhibition. Supervise milking operations to ensure work is done correctly . Track and report on current feed inventory . Feed and tend animals. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Carry out a pasture or pen breeding programs. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain quality control and production records. Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens. Maintain work records and logs. Perform general farm duties. Write daily basic progress reports. Employment terms options: Early morning. Evening. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Employment terms options: Flexible hours.
