About this role
Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry. Work setting: Private practice. Tasks: Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders. Diagnose psychiatric disorders. May conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods. Prescribe medication and treatment . Refer patients for surgery. Treat diseases and physiological disorders . Treat psychiatric disorders. Conduct microscopic and chemical analyses of laboratory samples and specimens. Prepare research papers for publication and presentation. Study the nature, cause and development of diseases and the structural and functional changes caused by diseases. Supervise laboratory activities. Act as consultants to other physicians. Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Specialization in clinical medicine: Cardiology. Internal medicine. Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years.
