Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Tasks: Set up, program and operate one or more computerized or manual woodworking machines. Fabricate or repair wooden parts for furniture, fixtures and other wood products. Operate gluing machines to glue pieces or wood together or press and affix wood veneer to wood surfaces. Operate preset special purpose woodworking machines to fabricate wood products. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment. Replace parts as required. Equipment and machinery experience: Computerized woodworking machine. Drills. Gluing machines. Planers. Saws. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Safety equipment/gear. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles. Gloves. Mask.
