Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a Child Health Information Officer working in our established Child Health Information Team based at Geoffrey Rhodes Centre.

To be successful as a Child Health Information Officer, candidates should be professional, polite, and attentive while also being accurate. They should be well organised and efficient, willing to meet each challenge directly.

A Child Health officer must have experience of using SystmOne and Microsoft Office applications. Most importantly, Child Health officer should have the ability to maintain accurate and timely information whilst identifying and correcting data quality issue accurately.

Main duties of the job

o Utilise tracing databases to locate movements in and out of the area.o Liaise with external child health teams and internal 0-19 colleagues.o Answering and dealing effectively with queries via telephone and email.o Understanding the importance of dealing with confidential records

Job description Job responsibilities

To support and contribute to the delivery of a Child Health Information Service across Newcastle upon Tyne To update childrens electronic records by entering child health information onto the SystmOne database in an accurate and timely manner.

KNOWLEDGE Essential

oAbility to identify and correct data quality issues oAbility to understand and adhere to a range of working procedures oAbility to work on a range of different tasks oAbility to prioritise workload oAbility to work to challenging deadlines

Desirable

oExperience of dealing with queries form health professionals

SKILLS Essential

oComprehensive knowledge of SystmOne Child Health module oAdvanced keyboard skills, particularly SystmOne shortcuts oUse of tracing databases to track and trace children oAbility to plan, prioritise own and delegated work tasks and activities oUse of a range of computer software packages including MS Word, Outlook Excel, Powerpoint and NHS.Net email oSafe and responsible use of physical resources including scanner, printers and Paragon Pressure Sealer oAbility to be responsible for own development, identifying training needs, set personal objectives and attend appropriate training as agreed by line manager

oUse of Exeter System

EXPERIENCE Essential

oSystmOne Child Health module oWorking within a Child Health Information Service or similar team oUnderstanding of issues relating to confidentiality and security of patient information oExperience of team working

QUALIFICATIONS Essential

oNVQ Level 3 in appropriate subject or equivalent Child Health Information Service experience oGood literacy and numeracy skills
