About this role

Job summary

The post holder is required to carry out Cleanliness Monitoring across all sites of Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust in line with the 51 elements specified in the National Standards for Healthcare Cleanliness in the NHS. The postholder will be carrying out monthly audits and the scores are fed into software which results in pass or fail for departments. The scores are then presented to area managers for assurance or action.

The postholder will also take part in and/or facilitate other audits managed within Facilities such as the annual Patient Led Assessments of Care Environment (PLACE) and the Trusts internal patient environment inspections.

The post holder will be required carry out admin duties relating to the audits undertaken and to download/produce, monitor and manage action plans and feedback associated with audits into the appropriate system.

Main duties of the job

To take part in the monthly cleanliness monitoring of all Shrewsbury and Telford hospital sites monitoring, nursing, domestic and estates cleanliness. Audits are conducted with the ward management team. Use Cleanliness Monitoring software to input data from the audit identifying actions needed to address failures.

To liaise with Area Managers, Cleanliness Managers and Estates Managers as appropriate for issues that need to be addressed immediately.

To continually update the Cleanliness Monitoring software system to ensure data is always live and relevant.

To assist with arranging and facilitating the Trust's Annual Patient Led Assessment of the Care Environment and take part in assessments to act as scribe.

To create, issue, monitor and manage action plans resulting from PLACE assessments.

NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience
