About this role

Job summary

This is a full time Obstetrics and Gynaecology Consultant non-resident post with Endometriosis Special Interest. There are 10 Programmed activities: 8.5 direct clinical care and 1.5 supporting professional activities. Current on-call commitments for both Obstetrics & Gynaecology are on a 1:12 basis.

Main duties of the job

The post will be covering obstetrics and gynaecology within a large maternity unit and established BSGE Endometriosis Centre, including out-patient clinics, inpatients, operating lists and consultant on-call cover.The post holder will also have a key role in the endometriosis service including participating in the endometriosis MDT, outpatient clinics and theatres.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Full registration and a licence to practice with the GMC On the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT from the date of interview MRCOG RCOG recognised advanced laparoscopy training modules (advanced laparoscopy for excision of benign disease ATSM or SITM: endometriosis care) or Equivalent post graduate university degrees (eg. MSc in Advanced Gynaecological Endoscopy) or demonstrable equivalent training and experience

Qualifications Essential

Competent in managing complex Gynaecological cases including open and MAS approaches. Up to date knowledge and experience of relevant speciality (Endometriosis)

Research Essential

Evidence of audit/research and the implementation of change following the audit
