Job summary Job Summary To carry out advanced assessment of children referred to the paediatric Neuromuscular physiotherapy service. As a member of the paediatric Neouromuscular team, the post holder will use extensive clinical knowledge and expertise, to carry out assessment, and refer for appropriate testing, to facilitate diagnosis and enable treatment planning. The post holder will work to time pressures dictated by the out-patient setting, seeking guidance from medical colleagues where appropriate. The post holder will communicate with service users, referrers, and the wider MDT, and will maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
As lead clinician for the paediatric Neuromuscular physiotherapy team, the post holder will provide training, support, supervision and clinical expertise to qualified and unqualified staff and students in Leeds and across the country.
The job holder will be involved in being Principal Investigator for Research projects, collecting data and carrying out assessments
You will be required to ensure effective communication is maintained at all times, whilst providing training, support, supervision and clinical expertise to qualified and unqualified staff and students.
The jobholder will act as a role model to the physiotherapy team as a clinical source of expertise, promoting quality evidence based practice to support an effective and efficient service provision in the specialist area.
Main duties of the job Why you should join our Team The Childrens physiotherapy team is a team of approximately 40 physiotherapists and physiotherapy assistants who work across Leeds Childrens Hospital. They have a wide scope of experience and enjoy developing and teaching new members of the team.
What you will bring to the role Qualifications
Degree or equivalent
Attendance on relevant specialist accredited post graduate courses to masters level or equivalent.
Experience
Significant experience working at a senior level in this clinical field.
Research, clinical audit and standard setting
Working with a wide range of professionals including medical, nursing, therapy and management colleagues
Skills
Ability to communicate effectively within multi professional team
Ability to prioritise and organise.
Ability to teach qualified and unqualified staff and students.
