Main duties of the job

As a Senior Pharmacist, Clinical Services and Medicines Optimisation, you will assist the Lead Pharmacist, Formulary and Medicines Optimisation in the development of the SouthWest London joint formulary and guidelines and the implementation of National and Local guidelines related to medicines. You will provide a comprehensive and efficient pharmaceutical service in accordance with the required standardsof quality and professional practice to meet the needs of the patients, the Pharmacy Department andIntegrated Care Boards (ICB).

This position is full-time with a requirement for 37.5 hours of work per week, including participation in seven-day working and on-call rotas.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Professional qualification - General Pharmaceutical Council registration Certificate in clinical pharmacy (at least 12 months complete and working towards 18 months)

Desirable

Membership of Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain Full Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent Management training Independent Prescriber

Experience Essential

Post registration UK hospital experience (min 18 months) Experience of providing services to a broad variety of patients Demonstrate evidence of good clinical knowledge and skills. Experience in medicines management/ optimisation

Desirable

Management of staff/ Staff appraisal Knowledge of CMM (formerly JAC) pharmacy computer system

Skills Essential

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written Good organisational skills, self and others. Ability to motivate self and others Drug usage review/evaluation/audit experience Clinical governance and risk management

Desirable

Ability to implement and manage change Experience of contributing to or leading on the writing of trust guidelines, policies and procedures
