The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and proactive operational leader to play a key role in the delivery of KT Healthcare's Autism Diagnostic Service.

Working closely with the Operations Lead, you will support the management of operational performance, patient experience, workforce planning and service delivery. You will provide day-to-day leadership to our Patient Support Coordinators and Assistant Psychologist Patient Support Coordinators, helping to ensure the smooth running of services while maintaining compliance with contractual and governance requirements.

The role offers a varied blend of team leadership, operational management, performance monitoring and service improvement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, supporting people and driving positive change within a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Service Delivery

Support the Operations Lead in the day-to-day management of KT Healthcare's Autism Diagnostic Service, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, compliantly and within agreed contractual standards.

Assist with appointment scheduling, workforce planning and service coordination to minimise disruption and maintain positive patient experiences.

Monitor operational performance and support the delivery of service targets, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to continuous service development.

Support implementation of new systems, software and operational processes to enhance efficiency and service quality.

Provide operational leadership during periods of absence for the Operations Lead, ensuring continuity of service and effective decision-making.

Team Leadership & Staff Development

Provide day-to-day leadership and support to the Patient Support Coordinator and Assistant Psychologist Patient Support Coordinator teams.

Conduct supervision meetings, one-to-one reviews and appraisals, supporting individual performance and professional development.

Assist with onboarding, training and ongoing development of team members, ensuring staff are equipped to perform their roles effectively.

Promote a positive, collaborative and accountable working culture across the operations team.

Support workload management and effective delegation to ensure operational demands are met.

Patient Experience & Stakeholder Communication

Support the delivery of high-quality patient care through effective coordination of operational processes and communication pathways.

Act as an escalation point for patient, clinician and operational queries, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and professionally.

Assist with complaint management processes, ensuring concerns are investigated thoroughly and resolved appropriately.

Maintain effective communication between operational teams, clinicians and senior management to support seamless service delivery.

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

Support compliance with safeguarding, GDPR, information governance and regulatory requirements.

Maintain oversight of operational records and data accuracy, ensuring information is managed securely and appropriately.

Assist with incident reporting, audits and quality improvement initiatives to support clinical governance and operational excellence.

Identify operational risks and support the implementation of mitigation strategies to maintain safe and effective service delivery.

Data Analysis & Performance Reporting

Support the collection, analysis and reporting of operational performance data.

Monitor service KPIs and performance metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.

Assist with workforce reporting, referral monitoring and operational data requests from senior management and external stakeholders.

Support data-driven decision making and continuous improvement initiatives across the service.

About You

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

Previous experience in a supervisory, team leader or management position within a similar industry

Experience working within a fast-paced operational environment.

Strong organisational and workload management skills.

Experience supporting or managing team performance.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to interpret data and identify trends.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business systems.

Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and professional standards.
