Applicants must hold current NMC or HCPC registration and have substantial experience working with Functional Neurological Disorder. Experience as a Hospital Manager, Clinical Director, Service Lead, or Registered Manager is highly desirable.

The Role
The FND Specialist will provide expert assessment, treatment planning, clinical leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration for patients diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder.
Working closely with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will help develop and deliver specialist treatment pathways while supporting the strategic growth and clinical direction of the service.
The successful candidate will be recognised as an expert practitioner in FND and be passionate about advancing patient-centred care in this specialist field.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver specialist assessments and clinical interventions for individuals with FND.
Contribute to the design and development of innovative treatment pathways.
Provide expert guidance and support to multidisciplinary colleagues.
Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and service development initiatives.
Support the development of a nationally recognised centre of excellence in FND care.
Maintain the highest standards of patient safety, clinical effectiveness, and person-centred care.
Contribute to education, training, and awareness initiatives within the organisation and wider healthcare community.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Current registration with either the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Experience Essential
Significant clinical experience working with patients diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). Demonstrable expertise in assessment, treatment planning, and rehabilitation of individuals with FND. Strong understanding of contemporary evidence-based approaches to FND management. Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills. Ability to contribute to service development and clinical innovation.
Desirable
Previous experience managing or leading a hospital, specialist healthcare service, or inpatient unit. Experience as a Registered Manager within a healthcare setting. Experience establishing, developing, or transforming clinical services. Background in neurological rehabilitation, neuropsychiatry, mental health, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, or related specialist services. Experience with governance, quality assurance, CQC compliance, and operational leadership. Teaching, training, research, or publication experience relating to FND.
