We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Art Psychotherapist to join our dedicated and friendly multidisciplinary team at Holybourne Hospital on a part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a specialist inpatient mental health service, supporting adults with complex mental health needs through creative, evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
At Holybourne Hospital, we provide intensive mental health treatment within a safe and compassionate environment for adults aged 18 and over who present in crisis with severe and complex mental health conditions. Our focus is on helping our service users stabilise, develop insight, build coping strategies, and make meaningful progress in their recovery.
Main duties of the job
This role is 0.4 WTE (15 hours per week across 2 days), with one day based within our new Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and one day supporting patients across our Acute Mental Health Wards. You will work as part of the wider Therapy Team (which includes Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Music Therapy, Dance Movement Psychotherapy) and collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to deliver high-quality therapeutic care.
You will provide individual and group art psychotherapy interventions, contributing to patient assessment, formulation, engagement, emotional regulation, and recovery planning. The role offers the opportunity to work creatively and flexibly within a supportive and reflective clinical environment.
You will receive regular clinical supervision, access to CPD opportunities, and support from an experienced and established therapies team.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
HCPC-registered Art Psychotherapist with prior experience of working in inpatient adult mental health settings
Experience Essential
Experience of facilitating therapeutic groups and individual interventions with the capacity to work in an adaptive way depending on the needs of the individual Knowledge and experience of assessment processes and the use of audit tools relevant to your profession
Skilled in working with complex mental health presentations, including acute distress and emotional dysregulation.
Knowledgeable about different clinical approaches appropriate for a variety of mental health problems, alongside related difficulties which might include problems with drugs and alcohol. Ability to maintain a compassionate, creative, and recovery-focused approach with a high level of self-reflexivity Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Ability to work independently in an often-fast moving environment and manage a varied clinical workload
