We are looking for Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical, Counselling, Forensic) to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team at Kings Norton Hospital on a part-time basis.
We are also open to newly qualified candidates.

At Kings Norton Hospital, we provide intensive treatment within a safe and compassionate environment for adults aged 18 and over from across the UK who are detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007) and present with severe and complex mental health conditions.
Main duties of the job
You will work alongside a highly skilled, collaborative team to deliver a wide range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions. Our focus is on helping patients stabilise, develop insight, build coping strategies, and make meaningful progress in their recovery. We are committed to achieving the shortest clinically appropriate length of stay, supporting patients to transition safely back home or into ongoing community care.
We welcome applications from newly qualified or soon-to-be qualified Practitioner Psychologist, as well as those with more established experience. You will be supported through regular supervision, professional development opportunities, and a strong culture of reflective practice.

The role
This part-time role is 22.5 hours per week, with exact working days and times to be agreed with the successful candidate. We offer flexibility to help you balance your work and personal commitments.
In this role, you will deliver a provision of specialist advice/consultation/ formulation, psychological assessment, liaison with other agencies, psychological interventions, clinical supervision and teaching of staff and/or students.. Working closely with our experienced multidisciplinary team (MDT), you will play a key role in managing risk, guiding treatment, and supporting the overall wellbeing and recovery of our patients.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake comprehensive clinical psychological assessments using a range of methods (file review, interviews, psychometric and/or behavioural observation)Complete clinical formulations and structured professional judgement risk assessmentsDeliver and evaluate evidence-based individual and group interventionsContribute to risk assessment, risk management and treatment planning within the MDTAdminister, score and interpret clinical and psychological assessmentsProduce high-quality written reportsSupport and guide colleagues in delivering psychologically informed interventionsContribute to clinical governance, audit, service development and trainingMaintain HCPC registration, CPD and compliance with regulatory and organisational standards . Qualifications Essential
HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
Experience Essential
Pre or post qualification experience working in forensic, mental health, rehabilitation or hospital settings Strong assessment, formulation and intervention skills Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
