Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individuals to join our Neonatal Administration team to provide efficient and high quality administrative support to consultants and their teams. Working in close co-operation with staff and other health professionals to ensure a first class service. An active and supportive member of the department's administrative and clerical team.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidates will have excellent organisational skills, a patient-focused approach, be a good team player capable of working with different staff groups and be able to work on their own initiative.The person best suited to this position is someone with the ability to work in a team, has excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills and who is also flexible, proactive and who meets challenges and who is flexible and meets challenges with enthusiasm.

A good standard of verbal and written English, numeracy and attention to detail is also expected.

You will be working as part of a well established Neonatal team providing administrative support to the running of the service.

The Neonatal Unit provides specialist medical and surgical services to premature and sick newborn infants requiring intensive care, high dependency care, special care and community care.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Training Essential

Educated to GCSE level, with evidence of good written English Microsoft word processing and knowledge of basic excel Previous experience of admin support roles

Desirable

Customer care qualification or equivalent level of knowledge and experience

Experience Essential

At least 1 year clerical or secretarial experience (within the last 3 years) Experience of working within a hospital Experience of working with the public

Desirable

Previous experience of working in a multi-cultural environment
