Job summary
This is a permanent Therapy Technician position based within the physiotherapy team at the Wolfson neurorehabilitation centre - a 26 bedded neurorehabilitation unit at Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton. The post holder provides physiotherapy technician sessions to patients in this clinical area (both 1:1 and in group settings) and assists the therapy team in related administrative and domestic duties needed.
The postholder contributes to the seven-day therapy service across neurosciences which has a direct impact on patient flow and reducing length of stay within St George's Hospital.
Applicants need to be flexible, reliable, demonstrate confidence in dealing with the public and possess excellent communication skills. The post-holder will receive training to undertake the required therapy tasks and so will need to be keen to learn, able to complete tasks delegated to them and have the ability to use their initiative.
Good team-work skills are essential as well as basic IT skills. Applicants will need to be able to work rostered weekends as part of the seven-day working service at St George's hospital supporting the acute neurosciences therapy team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is a key team member of a highly specialist neuro rehabilitation service at Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton.
They will work under the supervision of the physiotherapists but will work with the wider therapy team to deliver specialist neurorehabilitation to inpatients in our care.
Therapy interventions provided include physical, sensory, cognitive and perceptual rehabilitation interventions which are completed as either 1:1 or group sessions. The postholder contributes to the intensity of rehabilitation provided.
Part of the role will also involve assisting with administrative tasks, maintenance of equipment, information gathering and the promotion of best quality patient care.

This role is primarily based at the Wolfson Neurorehabilitation Centre at Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton. The post holder will also be required to support the 7 day therapy service at the St George's site on rostered weekends / bank holidays.
