Job summary Job Summary The Service Manager Biomedical Science will play a key leadership role within the National Pathology Imaging Co-operative (NPIC), managing a complex portfolio of projects and operational services that support innovation, service improvement and high-quality patient care. Working closely with clinical teams, managers and external stakeholders, the post holder will lead the development and implementation of effective business processes, service redesign initiatives and operational plans to ensure the delivery of key performance, access and capacity targets across NPIC sites.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated leader with strong programme management, communication and organisational skills. The successful candidate will provide line management to the NPIC Biomedical Science team, support strategic planning and business continuity, and drive continuous improvement across services. The role requires the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, influence change and deliver sustainable service improvements aligned with NHS priorities and organisational objectives

We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual with strong leadership, operational management and service improvement skills. You will bring experience of managing complex projects and multidisciplinary teams within a healthcare or large organisational environment, alongside the ability to develop effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced setting.
You will have experience in business planning, performance management and implementing service redesign initiatives to improve quality, efficiency and patient outcomes. A strong understanding of governance, risk management and continuous improvement processes will be essential, together with the ability to analyse and interpret complex information to support decision-making. We are seeking someone who is proactive, collaborative and committed to delivering high-quality services while supporting innovation and transformation across pathology and diagnostic services.
