Salary: £30,000 - 40,000 per year
Requirements
- Proven experience in a 2nd or 3rd line IT support role
- Experience with Windows Server and desktop environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and user management
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 / Office 365, networking, and virtualisation
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices
- Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial environments (desirable)
- Familiarity with ERP or production systems (desirable)
- Relevant IT certifications, such as Microsoft, CompTIA, or Cisco (desirable)
- Degree or equivalent experience in IT or a related field (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for hardware, software, and network issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents escalated from 1st line support
- Support and maintain servers, networks, and core infrastructure to maximise uptime for manufacturing and production systems
- Manage and support user accounts, permissions, and security
- Maintain IT documentation, procedures, and the knowledge base
- Assist with IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and implementations
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify improvements
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes
- Work closely with production, engineering, and operations teams
- Liaise with third-party vendors and support providers

This is an office-based 2nd / 3rd Line IT Engineer role in Leyland, Preston, working Monday to Friday with no hybrid working. The role reports to the IT Manager and supports IT systems and infrastructure across a manufacturing business, including production-critical systems.
