Job summary
This post is for 10PAs for 1 year covering elective Lower Limb arthroplasty services
The post holder will be part of a team of 17 consultants providing a comprehensive emergency trauma and elective orthopaedic service.
Elective work, including outpatients and theatres, takes place at St Albans City Hospital.
The department is well-staffed across both locations, supporting consistent and high-quality care.
Main duties of the job
The appointee is expected to be confident in delivering elective limb arthroplasty services.
The appointee will be expected to contribute actively to administrative, teaching, and research activities within the department. Consultants are expected to represent the department on various Trust committees and take on delegated responsibilities in line with their interests and departmental needs, as assigned by the Clinical Director.
All consultants are responsible for supervising Specialist Registrars, who rotate through the department as part of their training. The appointee is also expected to contribute meaningfully to governance and quality improvement, demonstrating a commitment to high standards of patient care and safety.
