We are seeking passionate, motivated Band 6 Practitioners to join our expanding perioperative teams at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, including working in our brand-new, state-of-the-art operating theatres within the Cancer and Surgical Innovation Centre (CASIC). The CASIC center is due to open this summer and we are recruiting.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of surgical innovation while also gaining a wide range of experience across our established main theatres, day surgery unit, and other clinical areas. We are looking for flexible practitioners who thrive in a varied and dynamic working environment.
Main duties of the job
As part of our team, you will:
Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary team Develop your clinical skills across a broad range of surgical specialties including Robotic, Gynae-Urology, Maxillo-facial, ENT, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and General Surgery. Be supported in your professional development and career progression Contribute to a culture of innovation, safety, and excellence To assist the theatre management team in leading the theatre team in the provision of high quality, research based care that is patient focussed.
To act as a role model to less experienced staff, ensuring appropriate care of the perioperative patient is planned, implemented and evaluated.
To support the theatre management team in the management and facilitation of the development of staff creating an effective team.
To foster a multidisciplinary approach to patient care in line with Clinical Governance.

Clinical To provide specialist high quality, research based, individualised patient care at all times. Person Specification
Knowledge Essential
Operating Theatre experience with knowledge of the specialty applied for (if relevant) Demonstrable knowledge of perioperative practice including up to date knowledge of NHS, AfPP and NICE,guidelines. Demonstrable knowledge of normal and altered anatomy and physiology including commonly encountered preexisting patient conditions. CPD - evidence of post qualification experience and continuing professional development
Qualifications Essential
Registered Nurse - with current UK NMC Registration or Registered Operating Department Practitioner - with current UK HCPC Registration Degree/Diploma or evidence of equivalent experience
Desirable
Management Course Practice Assessor or equivalent mentorship qualification
