Requirements
- Strong experience delivering Microsoft 365 consultancy services to external clients
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Purview and its role in the wider Microsoft 365 ecosystem
- Practical experience designing and implementing Purview solutions
- Experience with information protection, sensitivity labels and Data Loss Prevention
- Knowledge of retention, records management or data lifecycle management
- Strong understanding of information governance, data security, risk and compliance
- Experience leading client workshops and gathering business and technical requirements
- Ability to turn discovery findings into clear recommendations and achievable roadmaps
- Confidence presenting technical ideas and proposed solutions to senior stakeholders
- Ability to explain complex governance and technical concepts clearly, without unnecessary jargon
- Strong written communication and documentation skills
- Consultative, commercially aware approach, with confidence to advise and constructively challenge clients
- Sufficient technical depth to remain closely involved through design and delivery
- Good working knowledge of the wider Microsoft 365 collaboration and security stack
- Beneficial experience with Microsoft Copilot readiness, adoption or governance; Insider Risk Management; eDiscovery and Audit; Information Barriers; Compliance Manager; SharePoint information architecture and document management; Entra ID and identity governance; Power Platform; Microsoft 365 tenant migrations or wider transformation programmes; or delivering client training, webinars or Microsoft workshops
Responsibilities
- Lead client discovery sessions, workshops and technical discussions
- Assess clients information governance, data security and compliance arrangements
- Advise clients on how Microsoft Purview can support their business and regulatory objectives
- Identify risks, governance gaps and opportunities across Microsoft 365
- Develop information governance strategies, solution designs and delivery roadmaps
- Design and implement Microsoft Purview solutions
- Advise on information protection, data classification and sensitivity labelling
- Develop retention policies, retention labels and data lifecycle management approaches
- Design and implement Data Loss Prevention policies
- Support records management and the appropriate handling of sensitive information
- Prepare Microsoft 365 environments for Copilot, advising on readiness, data security, permissions and governance controls
- Translate technical capabilities into clear business outcomes and recommendations
- Present proposed solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Produce assessments, designs, presentations and client documentation
- Work with architects, engineers and other consultants throughout delivery
- Help guide or perform implementation and adoption beyond the initial recommendations
- Act as a senior technical authority for Purview and information governance engagements
- Contribute to technical standards, reference architectures and reusable delivery methods
- Help develop governance, compliance and Copilot advisory services

We are recruiting a Senior Microsoft 365 Consultant focused on Purview and information governance. This remote role is UK-based and offers a salary of £70,000–£80,000. You will take a visible, influential role, partnering with clients to help them use information securely and responsibly and get greater value from Microsoft 365 and Copilot. You will also help shape our Purview and governance capability, influence our technical direction, and contribute from initial strategy through implementation and adoption.
