Salary: £70,000 - 85,000 per year
Requirements
- Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, React, and JavaScript
- Experience with AWS and infrastructure as code, such as CloudFormation
- Familiarity with ECS/Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis/ElastiCache, and ALB/NLB load balancers
- Understanding of HTTP, networking, caching strategies, and Linux environments
- Proficiency with Git, including rebasing, merge strategies, and branching workflows
- Experience with testing, debugging, performance optimization, and scalability
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug independently
- Ability to understand systems end to end and work across different areas of a technology stack
- Ownership, initiative, willingness to learn, and strong communication and teamwork skills
- Nice to have: experience with event-driven architectures, serverless development, scaling high-traffic applications, or small, fast-moving engineering teams
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance existing production applications
- Contribute to the design and development of a new platform
- Build and support scalable backend services and APIs
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across the full stack
- Collaborate with teammates, including through paired programming
- Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability
- Support infrastructure and deployment processes within AWS
- Take ownership of tasks and proactively identify areas for improvement
