About this role
We are recruiting for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join an established and growing UK technology business.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working within an accountancy practice, or with previous practice experience, who is looking to develop their career within an in-house finance team.
Working closely with the Group Accounting Manager, you will gain exposure to group financial reporting, management accounts, statutory reporting and financial compliance across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with monthly management accounts, financial reporting and group consolidations.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts and year-end audits.
- Manage intercompany reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain financial reporting schedules, including revenue, leases and fixed assets.
- Assist with VAT returns, corporation tax and regulatory reporting.
- Support cash flow, treasury and investor reporting.
- Help improve financial processes, controls and reporting accuracy.
Skills & Experience
- Previous or current experience working within an accountancy practice is essential.
- AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA/CIMA part-qualified or studying towards a recognised accounting qualification. Relevant experience will also be considered.
- Experience preparing statutory accounts, financial statements or management accounts.
- Good understanding of balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and month-end processes.
- Exposure to VAT, corporation tax or financial compliance.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence using accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational and analytical skills.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
