We are seeking passionate, motivated Band 5 Anaesthetic Practitioners to join our expanding theatre teams at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, to include working in our brand-new, state-of-the-art operating theatres known as the Cancer and Surgical Innovation Centre (CASIC).
This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of surgical innovation while also gaining a wide range of experience across our established main theatres, day surgery unit, and other clinical areas requiring anaesthetic support. We are looking for flexible practitioners who thrive in a varied and dynamic working environment.

Work across CASIC theatres, main theatres, day surgery and other areas requiring anaesthetic support Work alongside world-leading surgeons and multidisciplinary teams Be part of a centre driving research, education, and training Gain exposure to cutting-edge and robotic surgical techniques Contribute to the expansion of robotic surgery, building on Royal Surrey's reputation as a national and international leader Your Role As a Band 5 Anaesthetic Practitioner, you will:
Deliver high-quality, safe anaesthetic care across a range of clinical environments Support patients through the most critical moments of their surgical journey Work flexibly across different departments including theatres and day surgery Collaborate within dynamic, multidisciplinary teams Develop your skills in both innovative and established clinical settings

CASIC is more than just a new facility it represents the future of surgical care.
The surgical innovation centre will treat 7,000 additional patients every year, including those with life-threatening cancer diagnoses We will deliver world-class cancer care, with 60% of surgeries cancer-related CASIC will support a regional population of up to 3 million people, reducing waiting times and improving patient outcomes The centre will provide a seamless, patient-centred experience in one highly specialised environment Alongside CASIC, you will also be part of a wider, well-established theatre department, gaining diverse experience across multiple perioperative settings. We are looking for individuals who are flexible, adaptable and willing to work across all areas to meet service needs.
What Were Looking For A qualified Operating Department Practitioner or Registered Nurse with anaesthetic experience A flexible and adaptable team player, happy to work across multiple clinical areas A strong commitment to patient care, safety, and quality A proactive individual eager to learn, grow, and embrace new technologies Enthusiasm for working in both cutting-edge and high-volume surgical environments Full flexibility; you must be willing and able to work across all anaesthetic areas depending on service need. Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
City and Guilds 752/NVQ Level 3/Dip HE in Operating Department Practice Anaesthetic Nurses - ENB 182 or equivalent UK recognised qualification in Anaesthetics
Knowledge and Experience Essential
Demonstrable knowledge of perioperative practice including up to date knowledge of AAGBI, NICE and DAS guidelines Demonstrable knowledge of normal and altered anatomy and physiology including commonly encountered pre-existing patient conditions Possess underpinning knowledge of pharmacology in perioperative care Member of relevant professional body - HCPC or NMC (unless student - whereupon pin will be attained upon qualification)
Desirable
CPD - Evidence of post qualification experience and continuing professional development Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy/national guidance/CQC/and appreciate the implications of this on engagement
