Job summary
Applications are invited for a full time, Consultant Immunologist post within Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services, the joint pathology directorate of the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, and Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
The successful applicant will be based at the Royal Surrey Hospital but will be expected to undertake work at the laboratory site at St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey.
The successful applicant will have MRCP and FRCPath in Immunology, or evidence of equivalent training and experience, and be on the Specialist Register of the GMC for Immunology, or be eligible to be on the Specialist Register within six months of the date of the Appointments Advisory Committee interview.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to develop and expand the clinical service in allergy and immunodeficiency, and the immunopathology service. Clinical services are provided at the Royal Surrey and Frimley Park sites. The laboratory provides a comprehensive service in autoantibody, immunochemistry, cellular and allergy testing

Qualifications Essential
Full registration and a license to practice with the GMC Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Immunology (or relevant specialty), or due to CCT within 6 months from the interview date MBBS or equivalent MRCP or equivalent FRCPath or equivalent

Additional postgraduate qualification such as MSc, MD or PhD Educational Supervisor qualification Appraisal qualification Qualification in leadership and/ or clinical management Teaching/Education Qualification
Experience Essential
Evidence of thorough training in all aspects of allergy Relevant and up-to-date experience in the practice of allergy, including specialist drug allergy, challenge procedures and immunotherapy Significant evidence of experience in clinical leadership Clinical experience sufficient to take independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients on an outpatient basis Experience in multi-disciplinary clinical audit
