Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and caring SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary SEND school in the Nelson area. This is a full-time, ongoing position starting ASAP, offering an excellent opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs and make a positive difference to their education and development.
Position Details Job Title: SEND Teaching AssistantLocation: Nelson area, LancashireStart Date: ASAPContract Type: Full-time, ongoingDaily Rate: £85 – £95 per day, depending on experience About the SEND Teaching Assistant Role Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with a range of SENDSupport pupils to access learning and participate positively in lessonsAssist pupils with their social, emotional and communication developmentSupport students with needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficultiesWork closely with teachers and the wider SEND team to meet individual learning needsFollow individual education plans and support personalised learning activitiesEncourage positive behaviour, independence and engagementAssist with classroom activities and maintain a safe and supportive learning environmentContribute to the wider life of the school and support pupils' overall development The Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant Will Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant/SEND qualification, or have relevant experienceHave experience supporting children or young people with SENDBe confident providing one-to-one and small-group supportHave a patient, calm and positive approachDemonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skillsBe committed to supporting the progress and wellbeing of all pupilsBe committed to the safeguarding of children and young peopleProvide details of the 2 most recent references, covering the last 5 years' work historyPossess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of registrationBe willing to complete a face-to-face registration and satisfy the required safeguarding and compliance checks Why Work with Rotherwood Education?
