Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Female PE Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in the Colne area. This is a full-time maternity cover position starting in November 2026, offering an excellent opportunity to inspire pupils and promote an active, healthy lifestyle.
This is a fantastic opportunity to teach Physical Education across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging practical lessons and supporting pupils to develop their sporting skills, confidence and teamwork.
Position Details Job Title: Female PE TeacherLocation: Colne area, LancashireStart Date: November 2026Contract Type: Full-time, maternity coverDaily Rate: £168.80 – £215.68, depending on experience About the PE Teacher Role Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons across KS3 and KS4Plan and prepare lessons to meet a range of abilities and fitness levelsTeach a variety of sports and physical activitiesPromote teamwork, sportsmanship and healthy lifestylesAssess pupil progress and provide constructive feedbackMaintain high standards of behaviour and ensure pupils' safety during practical lessonsEncourage participation and engagement in physical activityWork collaboratively with the PE department and contribute to wider school sporting activities The Ideal PE Teacher Will Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), a PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualificationHave experience teaching PE at secondary levelBe confident delivering practical lessons across a range of sports and activitiesDemonstrate strong classroom management and communication skillsBe committed to supporting the progress and development of all pupilsBe committed to safeguarding children and young peopleProvide details of the two most recent references, covering the last five years' work historyPossess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of registrationBe willing to complete a face-to-face registration and satisfy the required safeguarding and compliance checks Why Work with Rotherwood Education?
