Export Packing Operative – Leicester, Leicestershire
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Export Packing Operative to join our well-established client based in Leicester, Leicestershire.
This is a fantastic permanent opportunity offering a competitive salary of £32,000–£40,000 per annum, Monday-to-Friday working, sociable daytime hours and the chance to join an established organisation within a specialist export packing environment.
£32,000–£40,000 Per Annum | Permanent Position | Monday to Friday | 8am–4pm | No Weekend Working
This position would suit applicants who have previously worked as an Export Packing Operative, Industrial Packer, Export Case Maker, Timber Case Maker, Wooden Crate Maker or Export Packing Technician.
Please note: This is a specialist export packing position, not a general warehouse, picking or packing role. Previous relevant export packing experience is essential.
Shifts
• Monday to Friday • 8:00am – 4:00pm • No weekend working • Permanent, full-time position
Rates of Pay
• £32,000–£40,000 per annum • Salary dependent on experience

Day-to-Day Duties
• Preparing and securely packing goods for UK and international transportation • Taking accurate measurements and working to individual packing specifications • Selecting appropriate packing methods based on the size, weight and nature of goods • Building bespoke timber cases, wooden crates and specialist export packaging • Using woodworking machinery and hand-held power tools safely and accurately • Handling heavy, awkward, fragile and high-value items • Loading and unloading freight safely • Ensuring all packing meets required quality and safety standards • Working efficiently to deadlines within a busy operational environment
Essential Skills
• Substantial previous export packing experience • Experience within industrial or specialist packing environments • Previous timber case-making or specialist wooden packaging experience • Experience building bespoke wooden cases and crates • Confidence using woodworking machinery and power tools • Ability to interpret measurements and dimensions accurately • Understanding of safe packing methods for goods in transit • Strong attention to detail and quality • Ability to safely handle heavy and awkward items • Reliable, professional and flexible approach to work
Desirable Experience
• Experience handling oversized, fragile, irregular or high-value cargo • Previous experience within export case manufacturing • Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) licence
Pre-Employment Requirements
Successful applicants will be required to complete:
• Basic DBS check • Verification of five years' employment and/or education history • Right-to-work and identification checks
